The Baytide Story

Hi! I'm Allie, Founder of Baytide Health.

Allie Zipser, Hand Therapist, Connecticut

I’m an Occupational Therapist, Certified Hand Therapist, and the founder of Baytide Health. I specialize in upper extremity rehabilitation, with a particular focus on the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand.

But more than anything, I’m passionate about helping people understand their bodies.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked alongside orthopedic surgeons and rehabilitation professionals, helping people recover from injuries, surgeries, and conditions that affect how they move and function. I became a Certified Hand Therapist because I loved the complexity of the upper extremity—and because I saw how much the right education and treatment could change someone's recovery.

Over the years, I also saw some of the limitations of traditional healthcare firsthand. Short appointments, rushed visits, complicated insurance restrictions, and treatment plans that didn't always fit into real life often left people feeling like they were being treated as a diagnosis rather than a person.

That experience ultimately led me to create Baytide Health.

A Different Approach to Therapy

Baytide was built around a simple idea: healthcare should feel personal.

I wanted to create an environment where patients have time to ask questions, understand why they're doing something, and work toward goals that actually matter to them. That meant building a concierge therapy practice centered around one-on-one care, education, individualized treatment, and helping people become active participants in their own recovery.

Today, Baytide Health provides personalized physical and occupational therapy, hand therapy, and wellness services through in-home and remote care.

But Baytide has also grown beyond the traditional therapy model.

Taking Therapy Beyond the Clinic

One of my favorite parts of being a therapist is educating people.

I started sharing therapy and wellness education on social media because I wanted to make the information I give my patients accessible to more people. What started as simple educational videos has grown into a community of people looking for practical, trustworthy information about pain, movement, injury prevention, and recovery.

You'll find me sharing everything from hand therapy exercises and ergonomic tips to pain science, movement strategies, recovery tools, and everyday “hand hacks” that can make life a little easier.

My goal isn't to tell you that every ache needs to be treated or that there is one perfect exercise for everyone. It's to help you understand why something may be happening and give you practical tools you can use.

As a therapist, I also believe in being honest about what we know, what we don't know, and what the research actually says. I love finding ways to translate complicated rehabilitation concepts into information that makes sense in everyday life.

And Then There’s Real Life

I'm also a mom, a business owner, and a person who doesn't always have time for a perfect wellness routine.

That perspective influences the way I practice and the way I create content.

I know what it's like to squeeze exercise into a busy day, work at a computer, carry a kid around, do household chores, and occasionally wake up wondering why something hurts that didn't hurt yesterday.

Real life doesn't always look like a perfectly organized rehab program—and I don't think it needs to.

I want the information I share to be realistic, approachable, and useful for people who want to stay active and feel good while living busy lives.

Why Follow Along?

Whether you're dealing with hand or wrist pain, recovering from an injury, trying to move better, or simply interested in learning more about your body, you're in the right place.

Here you'll find evidence-informed education, practical therapy tips, movement and recovery strategies, behind-the-scenes looks at life as a therapist and business owner, and the occasional glimpse into everything that happens outside of work.

Baytide Health is my practice, but education is one of the biggest reasons I built it.

I'm glad you're here.
